I got one wrong. #5 got me . But I am pleasantly surprised that I was wrong with #5 that shot was so damn good I just didn’t think the iPhone coulda done that and then boom. Hella good shot. I have the 8plus and love shooting with it and followers have no idea it was just an iPhone shot lol. Just ordered the 12 pro max. Super excited

If u want hdr to always be active go to settings press search camera turn off smart hdr. Go back into the camera app and toggle hdr on

I could tell every time! The iPhone is amazing, but it still looks like an iPhone when it comes to people! Also always adds too much sharpness... The iPhone is amazing for sure! But I would for sure pay the 6k for the R5 any day of the week! Great video, big respect!

I got it all right except the photo at 9:02, that's the only one I liked from the iPhone because actually skin is better just in that one. As I hate sharpness and love the R5 that makes everything look so cool.

What’s the best pro max camera settings?

Really impressive! But I must say that the most obvious ones are the potraits photos. To my liking the portrait mode always kicks out too much details and details are everything. But especially cityscapes are unbelievably tough to recognize.

I hear nothing but complaints when consumers talk about the price of a new iPhone. Yet, you’re getting a camera that rivals DSLR’s, a fantastic portable computer, an MP3 player and, oh yeah, a telephone; all of which will be supported by the manufacturer for at least 5 years! I’ve been a tech enthusiast since the Apple //c days (and yes, I’ve owned plenty of DOS / Windows machines, Android phones and Chromebooks as well) and I could only have dreamed of such a device someday back in the 1980’s. They’re worth every penny we pay for these things. By the way, the cost of that Apple //c in 1985 was $1,500 (my annual salary as a Computer Programmer was $33,000 in 1996!). Base price of iPhone 12 Pro Max = $1,099. Consumers are overpaying for many things. A new iPhone is not one of them. (I am not now, nor have I ever been employed by Apple, nor associated with them, nor even an Apple “fanboy”).

It would be great if you could do a comparison using Moment lenses, I think that you would see a significant improvement in DoF:) I have been doing a lot of testing with the iPhone 12 Pro Max and Moment lenses, and I have produced prints at A3+ that look amazing. I am very close to ditching my DSLR setup and just going with the iPhone 12 Max Pro, Moment lenses, and my Sony RX100 MK 7 for my future setup. I have now added the PolarPro LiteChaser Director collection to my setup, so I am now covered the video production as well:)

I got them all right but man it was hard on two of them!!! I Almost got it wrong because of the contrast and color, I kinda felt like the blur helped though on that last one for sure. Might just be me lol that's crazy that the iPhone is that close to the R5. I plan on getting the R5 as well, Im curious to see how it works at night

And thus the camera business is sinking like a rock. Cell phone cameras are only getting better, and for the masses, there are fewer reasons to carry an additional piece of equipment for casual picture taking. Sales are down 84% since 2010. You were just shown the reason why.

What is the best photo App for the iPhone 12 pro? Are the Photos in this video taken with Apples photo App? Is it taken with Apple Pro Raw?

How do you work with HDR on your computer without the photo being too white? All my HDR photos are too white on my windows pc!

Impressive results. I have the "just" iPhone 12 Pro Max with 512 Gb. I'd been using a manual Nikon FM2n and a Digital Nikon Df for years. I wonder how the iPhone's pics will come out using Moment Lenses vs. Nikon's counterparts?

On a small computer screen everything looks close or the same. This does not mean that the quality of the two cameras is close.

You get an iphone12 you win over the pro camera costs.

It's easy to tell them apart because they IPhone has a shorter focal length and fits more in the scene (except for portraits where it zooms in to 65mm but there's other ways to differentiate the portraits).

I got them all right but was helped with the fact I’m viewing it on a 55” oled tv, if looking at these on a phone it would be much harder without zooming. The iPhone shows its lack of resolution when blown up.

Seriously? I had no hesitation to tell the difference between both. Granted I have 105% sRGB screens, but you could clearly see the difference in dynamic range no the landscape shot and in the portrait shot as well. Now is the difference worth the money? ...

I have a Sony A7RII... My next camera is going to be a cell phone. My son's Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra is sweet!!

R5 killed it top to bottom! But for the price and convince I'll give it to smartphones. I nailed everyone by just looking into sharpness and fokeh.

iPhone's Portrait Mode's weakness is hair. Your beard area was so clear compare to R5. And street light Bokeh on last one. iPhone can't make bokeh like that.

I am sorry but the canon shots look so much better - in comparison. The iPhone got really good but the computation and small sensor can still not compete. Only the HDR tricked me, second last. Overall I really love the canon shots. My next camera will be a Leica though, my dream for so many years!

My comments in youtube are very rare thing, and I know what`s the point here. But I gotta say: c`mon guys, really? iPhone is just a phone, and it`s not near professional photo gear in any kind, even 10 plus years old. In a good day light may be you can have a descent shot for a phone display, but that`s it. Where are the low light capabilities, depth of field, high iso, bokeh, dynamic range and so on. I know it`s not the camera, it`s the photographer, but at least, it should be a camera with real LENS that can create real bokeh, depth of field and distortion, not a software. For me at least it`s the same like the difference between AI creating painting and real painter. These days we rely too much on some "smart" gadgets to do everything for us, it`s pitty!

Good show, but what’s the point of this? Low light falls apart instantly and there is no editing headroom on a phone. At 1:1 the difference is self explanatory. I totally dig the iPhone and the greater sensor with raw, but come on! Majority is watching in 1080p and even 4K is just 8 megapixels. A proper camera is always better. Then again I welcome the fact that phones are getting better every time, and especially applaud the natural color rendering on the iPhone.

I got them all correct. Art is art. Honestly, it’s not my photographic eye, but my artist eye. I’m a 74 yr. old in Florida, USA who has been an artist since I was 12 and have developed a really good eye in general. I had zero preconceived idea of what the issues were or were not with the iPhone or the Canon. I have just started back in photography after over 30 years. I have a total of about 3 years experience with photography and am finding a DSLR a challenge - totally new world. It delighted me to judge the photos SOLELY on what I feel was good artistic rendering. You are so right, though. The iPhone is amazing. I wouldn’t give up for a minute, though, the wonderful time I’m having learning the DSLR. What a fun exercise!

You can post on Instagram pics from ANY modern phone and they will be indistinguishing. That's not a problem with iphone or R5, that's the very point of Insta - small form factor.
