It's called an antihero, when the protagonist is flawed. The Joker wasn't trying to get you to side with the protagonist, just to understand them. This will probably be the same, although I could be wrong.

One way I see this working is that. like with Maleficent, she's just harsh, but still decent in her rough way, and will show us things we haven't seen that will explain it all... and the whole skinning puppies thing will be fake fur and a cover for saving them or something. The key will be in seeing her from a different angle and making her some kind of anti-hero suffering from out of context, bad press. Either that, or she'll have some kind of autism and doesn't really mean the nuttier things she says, and her coat really isn't puppy fur.

I got so Excited when I saw the picture, I have been greatly disappointed! I’m so tired of Disney/ Hollywood remaking movies and trying to make it “interesting” but it just becomes stupid and pointless, I miss movies that built worlds and created characters you could love, or hate, not movies where you go in knowing everyone only for them to be taken and destroyed not added to. Maleficent was a bit off but at least it stuck with a similar story line and showed you another side of the story, like an interesting twist, what even is this? I’d rather see a story where she’s working up in the fashion world? Maybe she gets older and pushed aside (maybe it’s Anita they’re replacing her with so that’s how she fits in) and tries to make a comeback but becomes so obsessed she will try anything and oversteps by “Trying To Kill Puppies!” The only real villain thing she’s known for, each disney villain is known for something, lust, creed, pride, Vanity! I want to see real heart evil not, I’m a little messed up in the head, But it’s ok because girl power. Like imagine a bit of “Devil wears Parada” And does Disney have something agains older women? Like Cruella isn’t a young women, now if they started with Emma and worked up to her becoming older and more desperate to clam the crown of the fashion world that’d be interesting for me to watch. But oh well what’s done is done, just another New Disney movie I’ll never bother with.
