No country isn't your thing. It appears you are going through an identity process. Lol. She has come a long way from her days in Fullerton O.C. She looks totally different from the late 90's and her wardrobe is much more tasteful. I saw her band live in O.C. back then, when she had the blue hair and punk look. Gwen looks awesome now with some enhancements, rhinoplasty and a brow lift. Also, fillers injected. It costs money to look good and Gwen had an awesome plastic surgeon. 🤭😊

If she was going to re-create her looks, she should have done it right. Make the Don't Speak dress longer like it actually was, lose the fishnets, go barefoot (lose the cowboy boots, we get it you are fucking Blake Shelton), stop with the damn fishnets pulled up over the waist, wear docs, not high heels with the JAG look, pull the pants up. It just annoys me.

She started her clothing line in 2002, one of the reasons she mentioned at the time being that she wanted to have a job that'd require less travelling and weird working hours than music when ND's popularity would've died down and she'd be a mom. That's perfectly valid. Not releasing music ≠ not working. She ran her own business in the years between records, doing shows at new york fashion week. And she nursed an infant while on tour, twice. It seems like mothers can never do anything right. She either gets criticised for working too much, or for working not enough. Raising your kids and spending lots of time with them is wrong, but touring with them and working a lot is also wrong in many people's eyes... No matter what you do, people will always scold women for the decisions they make 🤦‍♀️

  @S Amghie oh, and the reason she stopped was bc the solo career was never meant to be a career. She was supposed to make one solo record during ND's hiatus. The 2nd record was made with leftover songs from the 1st one. It was intended as a side project but it escalated so she did a tour. Then when she got back from touring in 2007 she was supposed to go back in the the studio w ND but found out she was pregnant with her 2nd baby. In 2009 she toured w ND. Bc of stuff going on in her private life it took until 2012 to finish ND's next record, Push and Shove. But she was always supposed to go back to ND after the solo side project, which she did. Then her marriage fell apart and she started writing songs to process it, released in 2016.

  @S Amghie Gwen never pretended to be. She's always been honest about wanting to be a wife and a mom and being perfectly fine with just that. She never intended to have a career. Her brother pressured her into joining his band as a backup singer, their singer passed away leading to her becoming the lead singer, she wanted to get married and have kids w her boyfriend of seven years, he broke up with her, she wrote songs about it, the band had its breakthrough. The album after the breakthrough had the single Simple Kind of Life. "And all I ever wanted was a simple man - so I could be a wife. (...) I always thought, I'd be mom." People have tried to push her into the 'indepedent feminist woman' narrative, but she never pretended to be. From the very start of her career in music.
