I don’t think it was an upset Dustin has always been a dog. Let him bask in his win. It’s not an upset he beat Conor. It’s always if Conor wins he’s the best and he’s back but if he loses it’s rust and why would he fight a guy like Dustin.

Absolutely no one is talking about the fix. It makes too much sense. McG puts a mill Poirier to win by TKO in the second round and all McG has to do is stick his leg out to get hacked to pieces and has won more money than he made for the fight. This leaves the 2nd rematch open and will bring in even more revenue, there never would have been a 2nd rematch had McG gone out all guns blazing. Fix all day long.

There is nothing to be said about inactivity. Before the fight we heard from McGregor and his team multiple times that this was going to be the most prepared Conor we'd ever seen. His coaches all said his cardio was the best its ever been and that his inactivity would have no impact whatsoever. Just because Kavanaugh and McGregor both barfed up that excuse immediately doesn't make it true. Dustin is a more developed MMA fighter and it showed. Don't need to say much more than that.

The check hook was a great strategy as I think they realized Conor over commits when he throws that hard left hand. They also did a good job having Dustin roll his head after he attacks. Conor really looks to counter his opponents (pull and counter) and most MMA fighters don't move their head off the line after they attack and Conor just pulls back then strikes.

I've got the say man yes it has been evolutionized but he was leaned in more he was hunched over he didn't seem as confident when he was going out and throwing his combinations and I think that has a lot to do with how that fight played out other than the fact that Dustin carried out a perfect game plan and recipe to beat that traditional boxing style. Conor when he was in his karate stance was able to move his legs out of the way of leg kicks or dart in when they threw the leg kick so it didn't land as clean and as powerful as they would have been.

Truth: McGregor has ALWAYS been overrated. He was dominate when he was the NOTICEABLY larger fighter. He also has some very obvious tendencies and habits, and truly lacks sound fundamentals in his striking... he leans too much to his right, over extends on his cross & up jab, and pushes all of his uppercuts & hooks instead of snapping them. He doesn't rotate properly on his left roundhouse kicks and his teep kick is slow. Notice how he telegraphs all of his spinning kicks?? Notice how flat footed he seems to be?? Notice how his combinations never seem to change?? It's the same combination set virtually every exchange. He's really NOT a smart fighter. A smart fighter doesn't just know how to get into his opponents head, or just know his opponents tendencies... a smart fighter knows their own... a smart fighter doesn't blame his losses on long layoffs or the inability to "conserve" his energy. A smart fighter takes a long look at what they are doing wrong, and FIXES it. I really don't need to mention his terrible cardio, do I...?? McGregor's days in the UFC are numbered. There is no one at lightweight in the top 5 in the UFC that he is anything but a one punch threat to.... and, even then, THAT'S a stretch.

Problem with the media is that fabricates false idols. Why is this an upset ?? The man has not defeat opponents of pedigree yet. Is the guy good? Yes. It is the greatest? Not even close. Now he has to fight Oliveira, Chandler, Hooker, Dos Anjos, Ferguson, Gaethje, Iaquinta and Makahchev ( whom will give him probably the biggest lesson ) to prove himself. Any of those fighters will create massive problems for him. Just imagine for a second Gaethje kicking those legs.

People reading too much into one loss, and writing off Conor’s future after this is ridiculous. Conor is an elite fighter, but has difficulty with adversity. He won round 1, was hurting Dustin, and then had his leg effect his striking, his confidence, and then got beat by another elite fighter. Everyone wants Conor to have every fight be like the Cowboy fight, which is impossible at the highest levels. Conor’s biggest issues will be his motivation, and his ability to handle adversity. He seems to panic when things are not going his way. He is physically and mentally gifted to make the changes he needs to make......the biggest problem will be, does he have that hunger? Conor based on his past performances put fear into people before the fight started, and got fighters off of their own game psychologically. The mental game is over 90% of the game at this elite level, and has Conor lost that “aura” that he had? It’s his next fight, that will determine Conor’s future path in the fight game.

I think that Conor Mcgregor is a fake champion. He's a derailed hype train. Why? Because when he fought at 145 lb , it was pretty clear that he was bigger and had a longer reach than those guys (with the exception of Max Holloway.... which was the guy he wasn't able to KO.... which was already an indication of what was to come). Then he decides to fight a taller guy.... and loses. Nate Diaz was not even considered that good of a fighter after he won against Mcgregor. And then he goes and fights for the belt at 155 lb against Eddie Alvarez? Dana White had already seen him as a money maker and was willing to make it easy for him to win two belts.... so that he could brag about it. Well, his big mouth made enough noise that Mcgregor was able to attract big (huge amounts of) money to fight Floyd Mayweather.... fot the big money.... and yet another loss. Then he fights Khabib after having tried to get into the guy's head insulting everyone close to Khabib like a crazy banshee...... only to lose to the Eagle. And then the big star does what? Fights old horse on his last legs Donald Cerone. Which was simply ridiculous. Only to come back again, fight Poirier and lose again. And what was it that told Mcgregor that he would win against Poirier? A win against the guy at 145 lb many years ago? What about recently? Poirier has been fighter bloody wars inside that octagon : against Holloway, Gaethje and Hooker. I don't think Conor Mcgregor is good enough to win against either Holloway, Oliveira or Dos Anjos. The crazy Irishman is history. Never been that good to start with.

How can you call this a 'huge upset'?. I forgot when we annointed Conor on the same plane of the MMA Gods as the last Emperor, GSP or Jon Jones. Conor has never been a complete fighter (cardio issues, zero ground game - submission game etc) and he does well when matched properly against others who stand up and strike. He didn't even seem to understand that leg kicks and calf kicks were a thing that needed to be checked. lol Fighters evolve over time and the millionaire playing at MMA is the one at a disadvantage going up against someone who stayed in the game, trained and is still hungry.

If you look at Conor McGregor's UFC record, then you will notice that he beat a bunch of rookies, short notice opponents and journeymen. The only 2 fights that he won fair and square were (1) Jose Aldo and (2) Dustin Poirier 1. Max Holloway was a bum (3-2 in the UFC) when Conor beat him. People are giving Conor hindsight credit for beating Max Holloway, because Holloway post-McGregor fight went on to be the best 145 fighter in UFC history. How many people are talking about Conor beating Marcus Brimage? LOL

I don't think it was a huge upset at all. Poirier is a much more rounded fighter than Mcgregor. Mcgregor has never had much of a gas tank either, 2 rounds max. Poirier was always gonna win that fight in my eyes.

This was not an upset... it was a pleasure to watch & see Conor bleeding & disheveled. He deserved every little bit of that beating he took. Conor needs a dose of humility... so fukc him.

It wasn't a huge upset if you we're sucking MacGregor's nuts. His record outside featherweight was 3-2 and also factor in ring rust. Also Dustin has become a killer in the last 7 years and for him to be such an underdog was very disrespectful

I know those leg kicks made the difference but watching this back with the slow break down and seeing exactly how they connect is great. I don't know if anyone has ever suffered with shin splints or is dealing with the early onset but that is what the target area seems to be. I get excruciating pain in that calf muscle area from time to time and it is absolutely agonizing
