00:06:33 : Hi Scotty! .. Been watching your channel for a week now..... Basically Im working from home and I use youtube for some background no-vocal DNB to put my brain in gear and keep me going while im typing... but for some reason ... I can both concentrate on work, while listening to your voice... and by some miracle I can even remember everything you are saying... It must be that Texan accent ;) Anway... about the OCD guy with the manual car question: Im an Aspie (Aspergers, which is similar to OCD) And I also had the pedal-reflex issue.. so much that I've developed a bad habbit of howering my foot over the clutch (while training), pressing the clutch as slow as the breaks, often times not fully.... I felt unstable in the seat and insecure and unstable to change gears in higher speeds. Forgetting to change gears and all those typical Aspie/OCD issues. Its a multitasking and mentally shifting tasks -issue... because of the sensory overload. Especially because the world outside of the car feels unreal and 2D to us. Here in Croatia the instructors are very strict, before only 60% would pass, now only 20% candidates pass. Licenses here cost like 900 $ for a 2-3 months theory + minimum 35 hours driving hours. And then each exam is about 90$. We also have to pass first aid exam too. And of course here we learn only on manual and drive only on their cars, but directly on the actual roads. So their cars are all manual, one steering wheel and double set of pedals. I drove almost 200 practice hours during 5 years, changed 4 instructors and had 1 theory exam (passed it 100% like we all do) but then I had to fail I believe 13 road exams! (like most of us do who have Asperger's or OCD). Previously we could go like 10 years like that, now they changed the law and we have to pass it within 3 years since theory is passed... so yeah.... I gave it a shot.... failed... Gave it one more shot just days before newyears.... after which If I failed I would have to pay 900$ which I couldnt and spend another 2-3 months in driver's school which I cant because of work...So I gave it another shot...... It was.....bumpy. But this time.... I had to run uphill for 25 min to the starting point early in the morning.... got my blood pumping and my neurotransmiters going... Then we drove back to the city to an alternative starting point.. had to wait for the examiner... so I had time to relax and plan my route even though we never know where we will drive on the exam.... I replayed in my mind all the basic stuff I have to remember (not forget to check mirrors often, dont forget parking manevers, dont forget to change gears as often as possible etc). Also a few days before... I finally learned that I should press that clutch hard and fast, unlike the break which is slow and gentle. And the rest of the times, to move my foot from the clutch.. and also to remember to gently push the transmission stick.. because I had a habit of grabbing it firmly and pushing too hard when I felt some resistance... But I learned that the harder I push the more resistance it gives... My new instructor taught me to do it very gently, and very relaxed.... I had to learn how to feel stable in my seat to do it relaxed and not panicky especially in turns.... Because the examiners are looking all of it. Then finally the examiner came. We were on a parking spot in front a mall... I started the car, checked around, went off a few inches , then a car showed up in my right corner and I stopped immediately. then I gently went off.... one roundabout, next roundabout.. then a 30kmph limit.. my examiner told me to go 40 because "the instruments are not correct" LOL. I was on a 70 kmph road and had to change gears.. but couldnt do it in that speed... I almost hit the curb.. waited a little to calm my self and then I changed gears... Next was another mini roundabout... changed from 70 to 30.. entered it into it and turned right and uphill like on rally race... I gave my instructor a shitter (another one after that curb)... Then I had to park backwards... I took a few seconds to measure where I should do it, how many parking lines ahead, align it with the other cars, remember the maneuvers and visualize my moves, also because it was a small Suzuki Swift... One instructor told me to align with the side mirrors, others would tell me to align with the back window's corner... But I aligned with the side mirrors so I was a bit short and parked too close to the car on my right.. so I had to correct and re-do it once more. And before that, I lowered my side mirrors to park easier in order to see the lines.. because then its a lot easier. But then I forgot to lift them Up and I went off like that to continue the other half of the exam.. I drove on the road with too-lowered side mirrors! (Aspie... it happens to us...) But the examiner was very tolerant, and considering I havent done any major mistakes, and he said because Im 5 years in the driver's school... he just handed me my confirmation paper and said "Go and make your license! You know how is our shitty driving." LOL :D .. And so.. I passed... Now I just need to get a car and.... now the REAL PRACTICE BEGINS! (I mean it's a full license, we only have either a full one or none, around here... no learner's permit in Croatia). And right before the exam I also found out that there is a traffic psychologist here (some Mrs. Iva Anić) who wrote an article about people with Asperger's and OCD should learn and do exams on automatic cars, because there is less multitasking with pedals and we can concentrate more on the roads and thus have less sensory overload. - So I asked my instructor can we do it on an automatic ? He said "Well.... yes, but we dont have that car, we had one long ago tho." ... so basically... No.... We all must do it on manual, and most people here are driving manual anyways. So... that was my story and my 2 cents on the Asperger/OCD driving issues we have to deal with :)

Hi i agree with you on the range rovers ,the early ones were much better because they had simple tough mechanics and a very good 3.5 v8 i had a ride in one of the first production cars it was fitted with rifle slings in the back for the arab export market.but as time went buy they got more and more complex and reliability went out the window and they became an endless money pit the fate of many cars i think...

Had a Subaru AC went out after 4 years, PS went out after 5 only had 33k on it. The PS was going out again a year later after pump was replaced. IT was a manual and the reverse switch broke that made the computer go crazy I could drive it but dash was lit up like a Christmas tree. Called the dealer was told cost $1200 drop the trans-axle replace $12 part. I found a video how to do it with long extensions and bending my arm in there. I mention that to the dealer they let it out that really only takes them 30 minutes but since the book says 8 hours of labor drop the transaxle they charge me that but only take 30 minutes. I replaced it myself IMO Subaru is a POS.

New tires, battery, brakes all around and the body is still on good condition considering I live in Chicago where Salt kills any car. Hoping to get another 100k out of her just like my 98 Subaru Legacy 💪

People who buy Mitsubishi cars have more serious problems than their OCD. I strongly recommend the brand for Democrats.

My mom has a 2019 Explorer Platinum, no issues 4000 miles in & I have a Taurus SHO 2015 with 72000 miles and the same 3.5L Twin Turbo V6, also no motor issues. The sunroof leaked, but that's not that bad compared to our Jaguar XF 2009. My sister has a 2017 Escape Titanium with 4000 miles, no issues with the 4 cylinder and our trusty Navigator 2003 with the good 4 valve 5.4L V8 is running strong with 84100 miles. We own 5 cars because we're a family of 4 and need them all.

Bought 3 Toyotas in 2018 I bought the 2018 Rav 4 platinum, paint bubbled at 15k miles and paint was falling a part, then in 2019 bought a 2019 avalon limited tranny issues at 370 miles and 13k miles fuel pump went out going 70 mph on the freeway, 2020 Tundra best decision ever but differential is leaking and Toyota won't cover it because it's not leaking a lot. 15k miles so far on it

Toyota Camry new is the same price as a Chevrolet mid size. Next year the Chevrolet is worth about half what you paid for it. The Camrys resell value is almost what you bought it for. Both are good cars! So if your buying new buy Toyota, if your buying a one or two year old car buy the Chevrolet its half the price of a used Toyota and a good car.

You shouldn’t even be thinking about shifting when your moving, you should just be able to know from the sound of the engine it’s time, and your feet should just know what to do. I couldn’t even tell you how I shift and I drive a manual- you just do it 🤓
