This guy is a great technician. I've been working on bmws for 22 years he makes everything look easy and they are relatively easy to work on. Unfortunately bmw screwed up after 2004 and up I've owned almost every model from 85 to 2003 and never had problems until 2004 customers that were bmw and nothing else were so passed off when buying any model from 04 and up I couldn't keep up with the issues. The 7 series especially was a nightmare. Not just ugly but try finding one that doesn't have a check engine light on.

Your BATTLE with the Powersteering Lines was EPIC ... I almost 'laughed till I cried', I've been watching you for about half a year and caught up on practically ALL your video... I'm not a patron YET but you are absolutely 'fun' to watch and I appreciate your passion for BMW's ... I know you're pretty new to this but has BMW 'noticed' your work yet?... you really 'represent' for BMW... 1st-time poster and seriously ... your battle with the PS lines and pump was 'comedy TV' for sure... "WooSaaaa!!!"

Just a mere suggestion, but I think many n52 enthusiasts would be so thrilled... You’re hilarious and so informative. Thanks for the vid man, keep it up

What type of assembly lube are you using? Very nice job, well explained. You are indeed a bit over cautious but that’s best with these engines! Why don’t you repair the oil pump instead of buying the whole assembly... And just use a lever on the garage handle, come on lol. Cheers and happy Easter!

Nice video:) If I may suggest one precaution measure- look at 1:03:54 an 1:04:07 - I would avoid any loose things near running engine hanging straight from the neck . Split second and your neck might be hurt when belt grab this string. BTW hope this oily towels were properly disposed. You may have add comment about that, otherwise I have a filling this would be tremendeous enviromental footprint left. Apart from that nice job and grate video:D!!! Keep up running this nice stuff for petrolheads!

Question: Why are you putting 5w40 instead of 5w50 molygen? (I know the 10w60 is wrongly specced by BMW especially for cold climates, can't expect people to sit in their driveway for 5 minutes waiting for the oil temp marker to get to 7-8). Isn't that way too thin?
Holowrx
28 өдрийн өмнө
@M539 Restorations The description link says 5w40? Dont you think 10w60 is too thick and the primary reason for so many bearing failures?

@M539 Restorations Welp, your video is too long. I scanned through it and got to the part where you mentioned the '58 shades of grey' thing going on. Whoever is watching all 1 hour 16 mins of it has way too much time on their hands... or should be spending the time side hustling or something to pay for their E60 wallet vortex. I have one with a paltry 105k kms and after 1,000 kms of ownership the ABS module is caput, I get the red cog of death randomly during very cold weather, the tranny or 'something' makes a weird metal twist/sheering noise when shifting gears at low rpm, throttle body actuator bank 1 is on its way out, battery discharge is 'high' after a new battery installed from previous owner (not even sure he registered it properly), fan bearings or something is making a whining noise when the heat blower is on... god knows wtf else it has planned for me at this point.
M539 Restorations
28 өдрийн өмнө
Funny how you noticed that but missed my explanation 😁
Holowrx
28 өдрийн өмнө
@M539 Restorations yes. Plastic vs metal does affect the shade, but that's where a pro shop wont just take the paintcode, theyll scan a sample from the old bumper and mix accordingly, as over time UV will alter the color away from the original. 😃
