This reminds of 92 Cunningham getting injured. Before that he a running qb the prototype for Michael Vick. When Randall returned as back up for the Vikings he became a pocket passer. If Dak returns he won't be the same but even returning from an injury like that would be miraculous.

I am a Cowboys fan since mid eighties because of my dad. I hope Dak leaves and is successful somewhere else. I am sick of Jerry Jones! He is the reason Cowboys are crappy! He cares more about ratings then winning. He could have renewed Daks contract in 2019 but they wanted to wait and instead signed Ezekiel Elliott to the highest RB contract ever. So ya let’s sign the guy with a sketchy background and let’s wait on the guy that has been nothing but a professional since day one. Jones logic.

People often forget that it's somewhat considered an obligation for the top tier players in any pro league, NFL/MLB/NBA particularly, to hold out. This is because your contract is what sets the market. My favorite example is Ryan Howard and Albert Pujols. Ryan Howard had a few huge years and because of this got a 25 mil per year deal. Meanwhile, Albert Pujols, who was easily the best hitter/player in the game at the time was making around 16 mil a year. Because Howard takes that huge amount, it now inflates the contract of EVERY player in baseball. Same would go for Dak. Because he's maybe top 5-7 in the league, if he holds out for an inflated contract AFTER the TV money, the he increases the value of EVERY QB in the league by default. I think we'd all be surprised at how much convincing from the agents and the players unions goes on with these guys.

@Matt You said these guys not Dak who is in a different situation as stated in the video. These guys also usually don’t have college degrees as they only play until they get picked/ drafted so they don’t always go until they get a degree. So it’s not disingenuous to say a lot of players have their lives ruined when they get injured.

    • Matt

      Matt

      11 өдрийн өмнө

@Magna Delusor I mean ... We're talking about Dak Prescott who's already worth $100 million. Also, they generally have free college degrees and even the backups make what would be considered a very wealthy income in any other industry. To say they have "nothing" to fall back on seems disingenuous.

Andre Gomez a soccer player suffered a similar injury where the ankle was destroyed and facing the wrong way he came back 4 months later and is now better than he was then I think Dak might need 6 months and then he can still be the same with modern technology we can fix basically any ankle break

I dont think his career is over but if Andy Dalton plays solid, Dak loses even more leverage and unless he comes down in price, Stephen Jones will never sign him especially when the defense is terrible and they definitely need to allocate some of the cap that was going towards the offensive side to the defensive side which if Dak doesnt sign they can definitely now do
