As a 30-year-old millennial with a career and children who loves Lowes, this is pretty funny. Most millennials I know aren’t like this, but damn if a few are along side some Gen Zers.

I even grabbed one of those measuring roll thingies and measured them. None of these are two-by-four. Me: son, it's a lumber store. 2x4 is the most shockingly common sized milled board in the world. Seems odd they'd have none. Do they have any of any kind? Redwood? Pine? Pressure Treated? Son: No. None. They have all kinds of boards that are eight feet long, but none are two by four. Me: You know I mean two INCHES by four INCHES right? Son: Dad, I'm not stupid, geez! Me: so they have stacks of boards eight feet long, but none are two by four. Do they have two by six? Son: Hang on... (sound of a tape measure being operated) ... no. Me. that can't be right. Son: well I just measured these and they're not two by six either. Me: what are they? Son: These are 1 and... (pause).. I'm guessing a half by five and a half. Me: ... Son: what do you want me to do? Me (both trying not to laugh and admiring his dedication to accuracy): go ahead and grab me six of the one-and-a-half by three-and-a-half boards. I'll make those work.
