ESPN trash didn't show anything from this game, all they showed was basketball because that's all people care about. ESPN never showed anything about Justin Jefferson getting the rookie receiving record either.

The Wild shouldn't have traded Granlund. He would be great with Kaprizov.

  @Joc Bruce No he isn't. Granlund's last season was bad he is overall better player. Much better defensively and he could had feed Kaprizov with passes like no one in the current lineup. Don't get me wrong Fiala is good player also but I just think Granlund suited Wild better.

We don't have a lot of guys that can handle quick lighting passes or unexpected passes that Kaprizov & Fiala do, I think they should be on the same line.

That last goal is strange to be allowed, I would suggest a new rule that it would be considered a kick if the puck is in possession of the player performing the stopping motion. If Kaprizov or another player in the similar situation planned for that shot and placed the puck for it to line-up with the skate, it'd be easy to bypass the no kicking rule.

  @Jimothy Hamper Because there are plenty of vets that never would have anticipated that & he did it in OT of his 1st game. Of course he squeezed too tight & flubbed the goal. If he builds confidence from this, a sloppy assist & a sloppy goal will probably be indistinguishable in the rest of the stat column

That sheet of ice at staples is a joke. Puck looked like it was stuck in quicksand first 2 periods. Nice that they make the kings share an arena with 2 basketball teams

  Couldn't agree more. I'm surprised at the lack of discussion about the ice conditions. One could legitimately make the argument that Kaprisov wouldn't have caught up to that drop pass on decent ice. Still a hell of a play.

  @Mr. Meme from the sounds of it a couple of the other elders stepped up of late, Carter in particular apparently looked better than he has in a long time. But Quick is too old for his list of injuries, and Doughty, like you mentioned, has no drive. He looks like he's out for a public skate, not a professional hockey game

  @Vierynbryn Another big problem is team depth. The whole team is pretty much just Anze, Drew, and Quicky, and well.... that's kind of it (but mostly just Anze). I agree, the defense feels non-existent at the moment. Mikey Anderson and Matt Roy are OK I guess, and Doughty is good for hitting and his occasional slappers. The Kings just aren't going anywhere with this core. Quick is probably never going to his former self, Doughty isn't motivated to do anything, and Kopitar... well Kopitar is still elite that hasn't changed. I think next year will the King's big breakout year, with quite high possibility for a playoff spot. Andreas Athanasiou, Oli Matta and Lias Andersson were all good pickups in the offseason. And they have some amazing prospects coming up. Its just a waiting game I guess.

  @Mr. Meme I think one of our main issues is most of our core is getting old. Quick is cooked from his list of groin injuries over the years. Doughty looks like his legs are painted on. Some of the other guys look good, but our defensive end feels like it's withered. Our offense did decent in this game, but the defensive play just felt weak. We'll see within the next few weeks if this is just shaking off the cobwebs, or if this is really what they have to give. I'll reserve judgement for now, because in fairness, it was a 10 month gap since their last game for most of them, and I can't really expect two extra days of training camp to make up for that
