The child talking, the haunting music, the thunder sounds with the flickering lights, blending Hogan and Sting in the picture and Sting's make up that had that dead look, to me, the greatest entrance of all time!

The blasting to loud thunder effect should have not been added, it was done to the Warrior's entrance as well, plus, what is the popping noise with no pyro when Crow Sting is walking towards the ring, was it the smoke effect causing those loud pops...?

Unfortunately, I missed out on the greatest time to be a wrestling fan in the 90’s as I only started watching WWE in June 2004, however, I still go back to the archives and watch WCW matches.

Shiver me timbers.... Amazing memories of the greatest time in wrestling history 1996-98 and this was the pinnacle along with Wrestlmania 1998 and the formation of the nWo bash at the beach 1996. Incredible time

WWE is determined to portray Goldberg as the embodiment of WCW. In reality, Sting was the guy who was there for the whole ride, who never left. Goldy appeared in 1997 and was able to ride the coattails of all THIS.

Debate me if you want but Undertaker Summerslam 94 entrance and Chris Jericho debut entrance in WWE is better than this.

This PPV was a complete RIP off!! I had a choice this or WWE Degeneration X PPV and I choose this. I wanted to see Kevin Nash vs the Giant. That didn't happen. I wanted to see Raven finally make his in ring debut vs Chris Benoit that didn't happen. Plus the whole PPV matches wasn't that great (expect DDP and Curt Henning match.) Especially this one. This PPV was the last I ordered for WCW. Never again.

The Sting/nWo angle from 96-97 was epic. Regardless of what was going on behind the scenes or not, the match should've been Sting squashing the hell out of Hogan, the end of the nWo, and Sting finding a new evil to conquer for 98-99. They could've gotten so much more out of this had they done it correctly. They definitely left money on the table IMO.

Besides wcw having a trash ending for this and everything else, stings storyline in wcw was kinda amazing, he used to come down and just turn his back on people to learn who he can trust, he was like a creepy batman it was awesome

Damn, this was awesome to see again!! Notice how Hogan steals some of Sting's thunder during the entrance though. Hard to believe that this took place 23 years ago! I remember this like it just happened.

The monologue made it even more epic, i remember these days when I was a kid.

Sadly the match was anti-climatic bc of the ending, granted all wrestling matches are pre-scripted and pre-determined. What made this SO anti-climatic was the fact it took until Slamboree the next year (in February) to have Sting win out right, but even in that match wasn't an out win for Sting. When members of NWO came out to attack Sting, Macho Man ran in the ring with a spray paint can and hit Hogan in the head with it and left the spray can. Sting turns around after beating down the NWO members to find Hogan lying "unconscious" with a can of spray paint beside him, which he proceeds to spray paint WCW on Hogan. Sting didn't even win THAT match out right, so that's why I say the whole thing regarding matches from Starrcade on we're bogus. All this is on the first VHS video of Sting: UNMASKED that came out in 1998. I still have my very rare copy, along with the video release the following year of Sting: Back in Black! That one was a bit cheesy having been done on a sound stage to look like an old dungeon basement. Anyway, I have both still, but UNMAKSED details everything from Starrcade 1997 to the Wolf pack days.

The young folks cannot understand, not see, the buildup of this storyline, that this was the ultimate climax, kickass awesome, MAN!!!!

My eyes are starting to into waterfalls, I had to pause the video to regain my composure, I was 17yrs young watching this live.... “Crow” Sting’s entrance music is very T2-ish as well, so even more nostalgia to cry over.... Notice that Goldberg’s entrance music is both very T2-ish & “Crow” Sting-ish....

EPIC!, the opening monologue gives me chills everytime,AEW needs to record a similar theme, with monologue included, why they went with a TNA sounding theme, is beyond me, when the synthesizer, strings & piano are timeless... Seek & Destroy & TNA/AEW guitar solo would be fine for the insane icon, but the icon is dark, moody, depressing, this is Eric Draven, this is beauty in the shadows, this is hope in hopelessness, this is Sting.
