Still need a Halloween costume? ‘The View’ offers up Will Smith’s Oscars slapstick performance in a ‘Star Wars’-themed performance piece, while ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ is joined by Oscar-winner Idris Elba once again as one of its lead characters.
‘We know there are a lot of people who have a lot of anger, but a lot of people who have a lot of love,’ host Sandra Oh declared, adding, “and I’ve got love for Hollywood too.” The “Celebrity Appearances” segment featured a number of celebrities who appeared on their own shows and in guest roles during the season. Among them: Kevin Hart ( “Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain”), Justin Timberlake ( “Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain”), and Jada Pinkett Smith ( “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”).
‘The View’ also offered up a Halloween-themed performance piece that featured Will Smith returning to his most famous role since “Men in Black III” in a skit inspired by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Smith is joined by Academy Award-winning actor Idris Elba as the villain, as well as the returning cast members of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” including Jerry Orbach, Terry Crews, Joe LoCicero, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, and Mike Schuler.
Guest appearance and “View Askew” segment
As part of the “View Askew” segment (also known as “What’s On Our Mind?”), viewers were asked to pick what was on their mind for the day. As viewers had the opportunity to submit their answers online, the “Celebrity Appearances” segment (which included musical performances and skits) began, and included musical performances from “The Muppets,” “High School Musical,” “Despicable Me 2,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Saved By the Bell Part II.”
